Does anyone know how to consistantly make a dish network receiver (4900)accept single numbers in sequence. What ive done is put the icon on the screen, doule clicked to learn IR and adopted the channel numbers one at a time with a delay between them. I have tried everything from .1 sec to 2.seconds and combinations thereof to get the dish receiver to just plug in the numbers but on one channel it only see's the first 2 numbers no matter what you change and if you make it too long it times out. On another channel icon it works everytime. Is the pronto just not spitting out the IR correctly or is it the dish receiver thats not seeing it correctly. Again i think its just getting the proper delay between numbers to make it work. Anyone else having a similar problem or got theirs to work every time?

You must use the actions button under the properties page to create a list of actions for your button to work. You cannot "Learn" a multi button command into a button. The action list for the button should look something like:
The following button actions on my remote select the DSS input of my Yamaha Reciever, Select the correct sound field for the Yamaha, and tune the DirectTV reciever to channel 501 (HBO).
[B] Yamaha - panel - DSS [D] 0.1 sec [B] Yamaha - DSPModes - Movie1 [D] 0.1 sec [B] Dish - NumPad - 5 [D] 0.1 sec [B] Dish - NumPad - 0 [D] 0.1 sec [B] Dish - NumPad - 1

thanks charlesH, the weird thing is that some of the codes that do work are learned. in fact they work more consistantly. i just tried to use the codes in the software and they didnt work at all. I still think its in the delay between. The problem is that no matter what delay i use i still cant get it to work consistantly. The Keypad works, no prob. but one learned icon works great the other does not, totally frustration. Has anyone got it to work everytime....

I tried .1 sec between digits and only got two digits instead of three. I increased the delay to .3 sec and all channels worked.

Thanks, but it still doesnt work. I only get the first two numbers. And after trying to get this to work for two weeks im giving up!! The keypad is the only thing that works every time so im going to label 3 buttons CBS and put the numbers of the channels under them left to right. It will be three button pushes but at least it should work. What A HASTLE!! Ive had the battery problems(rectified) and it has also stoped learning IR (also a semi common problem i understand) So far ive been pretty disapointed... at the very least with Philips addressing these problems.

Mike,
Why don't you try downloading a CCF for your Echostar 4000 from the Files section and see if the channel numbers work any differently/better? I don't have any trouble with my model 5000 with .2 second delays between the channel numbers in my aliases.
A.
