Well I had to send back my newly purchased TSU2000, damn gold contact for the rechargable battery was not set in the proper place so it could not make contact with the battery.
What the charger did was stay on for hours but not charge the battery nor allow the Pronto to work. I took a volt meter to the battery and it registered 4.2V, but the Pronto would not turn on (worked great with regular batteries). Upon close inspection I noticed that one of the gold contacts inside the pronto was caught behind the plastic casing not allowing it to work. I took a better look and it seems the contact was not trimmed/cut properly so it could pass by the casing. I also noticed that the entire contact was not seated properly as compared to the other contact.
Well I guess that as some have said the QC at Phillips seems to leave a bit to be desired, and has now cost and extra $18 to ship back to JandR. BTW I called Phillips in Canada and the woman did not even seem to know what the TSU2000 was, nor if there was a authorized service center in Canada. She recommended that I return it to the place of purchase...Kinda funny considering the card with supplied with the remote listed the canadian phone number for CS/Support!
Ah Well,
