Is there a way to use the Pronto as a batch titler (for example from a text file generated out of a database)for a minidisc recorder. I am new to the Pronto world but I am certainly not the first who thinks of this. I cannot find it in archives or Deja.
As communication with the Pronto ia rather fast, it would be easy to save the remote control configuration and fill it up with title data. Or am I going wrong somewhere?

No, something like that couldn't be done.

I appreciate your answer, but can you tell me why that couln't be done.
When I can use my Pronto as a keyboard and I can make a macro of those characters and other keys, the only thing that remains would be converting a text file to a macro.

Well, if you're up to writing such a converter, then you may be able to do something. Doesn't your MD recorder have a better way to get text into it?

Entering text into my MD recorder is about the same as entering text into a cell phone!
Is a description of the ccf format available somewhere. Maybe i could try writing a converter.

you can try looking at some of the CD tools (they are built to send macros from one key to activate the appropriate CD). I would guess some might be convertible into what you need.

This is what I assume you are looking for:
1) enter text in file
2) change text into macro on ccf
3) press button on Pronto to add title to equipment.

You can download the compiler/decompiler utility. That would show you the format of an 'uncompiled' ccf.
You may want to look at what leo built for managing lists. the 'SuperNudeList' application. This might give you some ideas of how to approach developing a standalone tool to create a ccf.

The complete C++ source-code to SuperNudelist is available, too.

Sorry if it's no use, but if you know C++ it might provide a useful basis.

Assuming that all you're looking for are macros, yes I assume such a thing could be done if you're up to programming it.
