I just ordered a Pronto TS2000 and J&R wouldn't haggle. I ended up paying $299 plus $79 for the craddle. After hearing about all the cracked screens in the forums I bought the 2 year warranty extension for $20.

Seems odd to me! I just ordered one last week and got them down to $269. Did you tell them you saw the price on remote central.com?

There's a guy on ebay selling the charger and tsu 2000 in a bundle for $319. I think his screen name is alpha2data. Search for pronto and look for a seller with a similar name.

That how I got mine and I had no problems. No warranty though.

P.S. Last time I looked he had about 30 for sale

I jost got my Pronto. Paid $299 for for both Remote and Charger. Looks like the best deal I could find on the Net. $15 shipping 2 day air. Received in the exellent condition very promptly. By the way my model reads RU890. Can anybody tell me what is it TS1000 or TS2000 and where do I get the sowtware for it.
By the way here is the link on the Internet

Andre: I got mine through the same people as you did. They were quick! The RU890 is the european version of the TS1000. As far as I've been able to gather, the only difference is that the RU890 is silver in color.

I've had mine for a couple of months now. After a week of banging around in ProntoEdit I had the most intuitive remote I've ever seen. My mother in law can come over and just start watching a video, dvd, tivo, or live tv without asking any questions. I am so used to it that I've forgotten how frustrating juggling five remotes was.

I think that you are right about those guys being the best deal available. The link you listed doesn't go to the right page, try this one:

Have you been having any oddities concerning the battery meter when using the rechargeable pack?

Hi Roy...

I am Alpha2Data on eBay...

One of my buyers pointed me to your message in the Pronto forum on Remote Central and the comment you made:

Frankly, I am completely at a loss as to why you would state the "No warranty tough". If you could point me to the auction you won, and it must have been a "Bundle" due to the price you cited, I will track this down further.

Your Pronto should have arrived in a box from ADI shipped out of Fairfield, NJ. Inside that box should have been the TSU2000 and the DS1000 factory sealed boxes. In each of those boxes, though I am not sure of the DS1000 since we have not opened one, there should have been an official North American Philips Consumer Electronics Division Warrany that I believe is one year. If not, I need to know about that quickly.

If you are referring to the actual printed paid invoice we promised all the people who left us positive feedback on eBay that we would be mailing out an actual invoice from our company as better documentation of purchase than perhaps the PayPal invoice would provide. The computer that handles that for us has been down with a major problem and we have not even been able to close our our year 2000 nor bill our normal alarm customers for the first quarter of 2001 yet. So, perhaps someone feels we didn't perform according to a promise, but it has been beyond our control and we will be doing them manually using Word or WordPro over this coming weekend if I can light a fire under my wife to help out with it.

I would ask you to please retract the comment you left on Remote Central, and please take a look at our feedback rating on eBay. NOT just the number, but the 100$ consistantly good comments inclusive of many superlative ones left by people who have bought close to what will be 100 Prontos from us... though everyone has not bothered to leave a comment.

Sincerely,

-Bruce

Bruce,
I just e-mailed you with a reply but to clarify for everybody.
I was talking about the extended warranty the can be purchased from many vendors. The pronto I recieved did indeed include a standard 1 year factory warranty.

I would also like to point out that the service I recieved from Bruce was excellent and I would recommend him to anybody looking to buy a pronto.

Please accept my apologies Bruce, I was only trying to help not hinder.

Roy

P.S. If my wife did not leave feedback let me know and I will light a fire under her!! :)
