Just wanted to see if anyone else is having a similar problem....

When I'm in Pronto Edit making changes to my configuration, and I try an IR Learn while in the software, more often than not the program will crash with an Application Error. I am running it under Win2k, is there any known compatibility issues here?

Thanks,
Frank

I believe this has been discussed in the past here. Apparently you should not try to learn when connected to ProntoEdit.

There have been many many threads related to this topic. The Net of the conversation is Learn from the Pronto and Not to attempt learn through ProntoEdit.

You can learn codes in P.E. 2.0
First do all your icons, bitmaps, buttons and devices.
in P.E. then download to your pronto.
learn each button any code.
next upload to P.E.
next doubleclick on button then go to action.
doubleclick on the ir code.
a screen will popup / learn IR
i would assume if you were to insert a rc5 code you could eliminate the first transfer.
SAVE YOUR FILE ALOT do yourself a favor.

Frank,

I did the same thing, had the same crash. I then went to PE v1.05 (using the 2000) and was able to learn through the 2000. Obviously another PE 2.0 bug.

I have not had this problem, but a different one. If I do more than 3 changes to my CCF without saving after the third one it crashes. When will they get it right.

If "slowing" your vide card works, then the problem is a video driver issue, and updating it may correct the problem.
