Attention pronto owners
I can convert your pronto into an RF remote,
never worry about aiming your pronto again !!
I install a micro RF transmitter inside your pronto that will send your IR signals by RF to a RF receiver/IR signal distributor back at your equipment.
The micro RF transmitter is powered by your existing Pronto batteries and the RF signal is good for about 75 feet,
this does not effect the way your pronto works now,
you can still use it as an IR remote too

cost of the RF converter installation and RF receiver/IR signal distributor $150.00 plus S+H costs
allow a 5 day turn around

also available new prontos already converted and the
RF receiver/IR signal distributor $600.00 plus S+H

I do accept Paypal
anyone that is interested should e-mail me at
[email protected]
Thanks Scott Gallagher

Send an evaluation remote to Daniel Tonks for a review and you might get a good response.

Scott,

Can this setup learn RF codes from other remotes?

I don't worry about aiming my Pronto now without RF. The IR emitter is so strong on the Pronto, I can even turn it around & aim it at the wall opposite my equipment, and it bounces off my white walls & works.

Now, controlling the equipment from a different room is a different story.... :o)

well due to my new job i will not be able to offer this RF converter for the pronto, but if you go to this link you will see what i used to do it,buy this item
strip it down extend the IR pick up,reconect power to pronto battery leads and that's it you have to be handy with a solder iron but if you are, it works great

again sorry i don't have the time to help the less inclined but here's the link

What does this do when you are in the same room so that the IR signal AND the R/F signal both go thru? Wouldn't channel up or down, or a distinct channel number get screwed up? It would seem that the Pronto's IR would have to be stopped at the R/F transmitter, and only get transmitted R/F to work. Do you have pics on a website of some of the steps?

sorry guys i don't have any time right now to take pics and walk you through steps, you are going to have to wing it, i will say this you have to get a star screw driver for 3 screws to open the pronto,it opens very easy, snip off the power led and the battery leads
get the board as flat as you can, insulate the board with something thin place it below the battery posts off to the right a bit and your in biz.
the remote transmitter takes a 12volt battery but it will work with the pronto batteries just at a shorter
distance
ps the RF and IR in the same room seem to work hand and hand just fine

I am in the process now of working on a RF solution for the Pronto. It will be integrated into the unit itself and will not hinder the IR funtion of the Pronto.

Right now I'm documenting the steps with a digital camera and will post the steps on a web page foe all to see. If any are not into 'Do it yourself'. I will be happy to do it for then for a fee yet to be determined.

Thanks

It'll be interesting to see how the Acer/Zenith RF addon works.

Daniel after talking to a rep at Acer rep he told me the the phazer didn't work with the pronto because of the interference caused by the lcd screen in picking up the ir diode impulses, so if it's your intent to use it on the pronto i would put the distance at 0'ft
