Last week, after 3 months of use, the power supply on my docking station has become very hot after being plugged in. After about an hour it is hot to the touch and smells the room with a burning smell. Any ideas as to what has gone wrong? I have a silver docking station that has worked fine up until this point. Now I am afraid to use the thing.
Thanks for any help.

That isn't good at all. Keep that unplugged and get it repaired!

It's most likely the adapter and not the charger that's gone. It's not uncommon for adapters to fail. If it's out of warranty, pop over to an electronics store and pick up a universal that meets its specs (which I believe are 700ma/12V -- but I could be wrong so CHECK FIRST). Make sure you keep polarity (+/-) correct on the tip.

Don't waste any more money on the charger, my batteries last six months and I use my Pronto daily, the charger's just not cost effective!

No one's ever said it's a money-saver. Over and over it's been said it's a CONVENIENCE and DISPLAY item. You won't SAVE money by buying it.
