I have the RU890 (euro version of TSU-1000) and I am very new to this. My question is when you first start up the remote there are already predefined devices (tv, vcr, etc.). Am I to delete these and add my own or do I reprogram the buttons that I need and delete the buttons that I don't?

Also, If I want to delete devices that I'm not using, like LD, how do I do that? Going to setup and then clicking on del doesn't delete devices, just buttons.

Download the pronto edit software from this site in the file Archives section. That is the easiest way to program the remote.

Thanks. I didn't realize this site had a search feature. I got the answer to the delete question from an old post. There is a large amount of information here, next time I'll check the archives before I waste anyone's time!

Victor,
Keith is giving some great advice. You really can't do anything with this remote without Pronto Edit. In the archives you should be able to find ccf's that include most, if not all, of your equipment. Open a ccf, delete what you don't want. Then open another ccf(with the first still open) and it will prompt you to merge the files. Delete what you don't want and repeat until you have everything you need. ;-)
