An ideas on how to MUTE while in optical mode of the Marantz DP870/AV600 combo instead of pushing the button on the DP870??

Any way to separate BYPASS mode into separate ON and OFF signals? Instead of pushing it once to BYPASS and pushing the same button again to Not BYPASS.
