I have a Sony STR-DE935 receiver, and the LCD remote included with it does not have the means to enter the SETUP menu (speaker size, distance, etc...). However if you press the SETUP button on the receiver itself, then the remote can go through the menus in it.

What I would like to know is if there is an IR code I could use with the Pronto TSU2000 to access the SETUP menu without having to press the actual button on the receiver. I'm sure there is one, and that Sony just negelcted to put it on their remote.

Many thanks in advance!!!

Yes, there is a "cursor mode" button on the inside of flip up part of the Sony LCD remote. However all it does is switch between the LEVEL, SUR, and EQ buttons on the receiver itself. The menu associated with the SETUP button on the receiver itself cannot be accessed by the Sony LCD remote. At least I haven't found a way so far. Thus I cannot teach the Pronto.

Like I said previously though, even though it's not included on the Sony LCD remote, there probably is a code somewhere for accesing the SETUP menu on the receiver. It's just a matter of finding it.

Have you checked a few other CCF files?

I have 3 Sony Receivers STR-DA555ES, STR-DE945, and STRDE-825. The 945 and 555 have setup modes on them (the 825 does not). According to Sony, the setup mode is a one time setting that is made to the receiver. Any changes in location or to the room would then be revised as needed. Any other frequent changes can be done by modifying the parameters of the individual sound field modes. According to the Sony rep I know, the setup button doesn't have an IR code assigned to it.
