I purchased it less than a year ago. I've left the rechargable battery out overnight, reset, all I get is 2 beeps and no backlight or screen of any kind.

I ordered a 2000 version ! When It gets hear I've heard I need to uninstall PE1.05 first. Will I be able to take my ccf file and upload it into my 2000 ?
I assujme it will work fine, just can't wait for the fedX man to bring it to me today!

Any ideas on where I send my old one that is broken ? I bought it from letsautomate in england. I'm hoping I can send to a service center here in the states.

thanks in advance.

Mine "died" the exact same way as yours 2 weeks ago. I called Philips Service at 1-888-486-6272 and they are replacing my defective unit with a fixed unit. Mine was 6 months old. Call them with your serial number and see if they will do the same for you.

Your ccf's will work fine. Save them off.

If you install PEv2.0 without removing(or moving) the v1.5 pronto.ini file the 2.0 install will not work properly. The install currently does not overwrite or warn about finding a file already there.

If you plan to do loads to a 1000, you can create v1.5 ccf files with PE2.0 BUT you CANNOT load them to your 1000 with PE2.0 You will need to load and unload with PE v1.5

Did you try downloading the 1.05 firmware again?

I'm not actually sure uninstalling ProntoEdit removes the c:\windows\pronto.ini file (which as mentioned must be removed before you install v2.0).

As for your 1000... now may be the time to take it apart, make sure everything looks good, then put it back together. May be something loose.
