I have a sony XBR53" TV. To watch sat. I switch to video 3 and dvd I switch to video 5. This is all done via a TV/Video button on the TV remote. The Pronto has learned this button perfectly. What I want to do is create a sort of short cut from my Home panel. I want to be able to press Ch.Guide and the Pronto turn on the TV, switch to video input 3 and turn on the Sat.
Is this possible? I have been experimenting with this
creating aliases with delays and I can get it to Video 2 or 5 but not 3. Will continue to play with delay time. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Mike

Check the files section - there are discrete codes for selecting the video inputs on Sony TV's. I don't have a Pronto, but I use a Cinema 7 and Sony VL900 to execute the type of macros that you describe.

Mike:

The discrete Sony codes for selecting a specific input, including even the tuner and Videos 1-5, work perfectly. I also have an XBR and have had them in my Pronto for some time, and they work flawlessly. Look in the discrete code section under Sony TVs.

Yep - I can vouch for the Sony XBR TV video source switching discrete codes on this site. They work like a champ!

Ron,
Tried to enter the discrete code and it does not work.
I'm using V.2 of ProntoEdit. Can you explain the proper procedure please. Also, should this be done in the Macro list, device, or Home. As I said above I have created some aliases for turning the TV on. Is it better to use the Discrete Codes than the aliases?
Thanks
Mike

Mike -- sounds like you should read through the FAQ (link at the bottom of this page). Particularly all in section B3 and B11-08.
