I am having toruble controlling this DVD. The Panasonic Off and On codes "work", but the next time you use "on" it comes on but kind of locks up i.e. the display say "clsoe" and the commands don't work.

Anyone with some help?

My DVD-RV30 does the same thing. Its the "off" command thats giving the problem. I called tech support at Panasonic but the guy I talked to never heard of any discrete on/off commands for any of their products. I think its a bug with this series of DVD players that slipped by the engineering team at Panasonic. Anyway, since the unit turns itself off after 30 minutes in stop, I've just been using the "on" command when I select the DVD and just letting it turn itself off. If I find out anything I'll let you know. I haven't given up on finding the answer to this problem

Another thing you may try to make sure it shuts off (in Macros for example) you can create a button that will send the Discrete code for ON and follow it immediately with the ON/OFF toggle (which you can learn from the included remote control). I have it working this way on an RV30.
