Sorry it took so long to reply Peter, but yes, right now I am using both a TSU1000 and a TSU2000 that had their configurations downloaded from the same installed copy of prontoedit 2.0. In fact, it's the exact same CCF for both remotes.

hi I`m also using a TU-1000(RU890) with PE2.0 and it works fine !! I found PE2.0 via a link in a forum on prontoedit.com . When I installed it(after uninstalling 1.05) It said something about an invalled .dll file so I just installed 1.05 again and installed 2.0 after that (without uninstalling 1.05 this time) And every thing works fine. On startup PE says2.0 and on the tab about pronto is also says ver. 2.0 !! Yo, dan I`m sorry don`t know where I found it and it`s about 4.34 mb (don`t have adsl yet)

Ronald,
Where exactly did you find PE2.0? I would like to download it but have been unable to locate it. Thanx!

Unless you have a TSU2000 you do not want ProntoEdit 2.0! There's no new functions for TS-1000/RU890 owners, but plenty of bugs.

This information is for those of you somewhat proficient with Pronto
Edit and their computer. We are not responsible for any problem you may
encounter with your Pronto Edit or Computer. This is just information I
found out by running into the problems I have run into.

If you do not have Pronto Edit on your computer this will not apply ,
just use the install disk that comes with the TSU2000 .

If you do have Pronto Edit on your computer this will help .

PROBLEM : Your at the customers house and you installed pronto edit
2.0 on top of version 1.05 or earlier . Now every time you try to open
pronto edit it gives you an error and will not open . Try billing the
customer for that ! yeah right !

The error seems to be caused by a conflict with the old software and
the new 2.0 version . The new version will not write to the pronto.ini
file . If you don't know what an
ini file is , it's an information file a program uses to know what it is
, does and sometime can do . corrupt ini file program is dead .

To remedy this:

1. Open ( MY COMPUTER ) on your desktop
2. Open ( your C drive ) or wherever your windows lives
3. Open ( windows ) you may get a warning from windows that
asks you if you want to show files . click
show files.
4. Open ( pronto ini ) if asked , open it with notepad
5. you are now going to edit this text document exactly as I show you
(unless you know the secrets I know don't change anything in this
file on your own . (DON'T put things in it that aren't below) .

When you open the file it should look like this . (if your having
problems) take note of all spaces and fonts.

-------------------------------------------------------
[fonts]
0 = pronto, 8,
1 = pronto, 10, *
2 = pronto, 12,
3 = pronto, 14, *
4 = pronto, 16,
5 = pronto, 18, *

[ccf]
size = 380

[version]
symbols = 1
-------------------------------------------------------

You are going to edit this file to look like this.
If you want more fonts , put a space and * after the number listed like
below.

-------------------------------------------------------
[fonts]
0 = pronto, 8, *
1 = pronto, 10, *
2 = pronto, 12, *
3 = pronto, 14, *
4 = pronto, 16, *
5 = pronto, 18, *

[ccf]
size = 380
universal_size = 960

[version]
symbols = 1
developer = 1
-------------------------------------------------------

After you have made your pronto.ini file look like this click (file)
then (save) exit pronto notepad and try your pronto edit. Ta Dahhh

Also there are 3 different ccf types you can save a ccf as
take note which pronto you are programing and save your ccfs to the
right type.

This information was discovered by me with no help or assistance from
anyone . I give this to all my fellow Techs and owners free for now .
hahaha

Actually deleting the pronto.ini file before installation of V2.0 (an alternate to the editing method) and the developer=1 setting for hex code edit was discovered in December. :-) Nice to have it all in one place though!

The downloadable version of ProntoEdit 2.0 (whenever it gets here) will not experience the .ini file problem.
