I was programming (through the learn procedure) new home theater keys into my One-for-All URC-6800B00 today and it just stopped accepting new commands.

Is there a limit to the learn feature? I already reprogrammed many keys other than the L keys. Could I have reached the limit?

My last resort would be to reset the whole remote and start all over. Is this possible?

(I am following the instructions (and time limits) to the letter when programming keys. Also, I do not have JP1.)

Thanks in advance

Frank

Yes, there is a fairly low limit on the quantity of learned signals the remote can store.

It isn't a specific limit on the number of learned signals. Different signals have different sizes, so the number you have room for is hard to predict.

The 981 command resets back to factory defaults (keymoves, macros, learned signals all deleted). You won't have more total room by starting over, but if you have some learned signals you forgot about, the 981 reset may be the best way to delete them.

A JP1 cable gives you a lot more flexibility to deal with these issues (a URC6800 should have a JP1 connector soldered in to use the JP1 cable).
