Got a new Sony SLV-D300P DVD/VCR combo and cannot find a single code to operate it--have used the Sony RM-AV-3000 remote as well as a RS 8-in-1 model manuals, both with no luck. Would love to find discrete (on/off) codes as well as one that would at least toggle to power off . . .

Thanks!

Nope, you're out luck, there isn't a remote yet, that has a preprogrammed code for the sony combos.

Edmund's right, it's not available yet as a pre-programmed code. Someone has made an upgrade file that will work it, but you're SOL unless you JP-1 your remote (if that's possible since we don't have a clue which remote you have).

Thanks much, Edmund. Searched this site and others and have tried just about every reasonable code, so it wouldn't surprise me. Much appreciate your response.

Actually, the Kameleon 9960 has this code built in...DVD/0864. It's a brand new code and will be in all OFA/RS products as well as available via upgrade from UEI support.

Does anyone know if device code 0864 has advanced codes for discrete Power ON and OFF?

If the device that is controlled by 0864 supports discretes, then the appropriate advance codes can be used. The key is that the device itself must know and respond to such commands.

Okay that makes sense. And that's the trigger for me to shop for a new OFA remote (as you noticed in the other thread). I sure hope this Sony does support discrete ON/OFF. Part of the reason why I selected it was my ignorant assumption that - like so many other Sony products - it would support discrete ON/OFF.
