The French Multiroom Blog spied a mention of the Nevo C3 in a list of finalists for the Resi Awards.

@Duct Tape - I've posted all I know for now. I'm not sure if they will roll this into the Nevo Studio program or introduce it as a device with it's own programming capability???

I heard from a reliable source that Nevo will be coming out with not one but TWO remotes and have the details for Cedia. Supposedely the price points will be lower than the Q50/S70. That's all I can really say.

That may be a compliment if that's the look they're going for. I kinda like it and if it has a little more weight to it than the H ONE it could be well received.

Looks like there's a new C2 remote, a C3 remote, and a new REX-433 RF Extender, all part of the new "Custom" line of products. One is clearly the one-handed "Harmony-type" model we've been discussing, but a little glimpse of the other makes it look like a two-handed style.

I'd have to respectfully disagree with that last part. Well-received by whom?  The Harmony market?  I don't see it.

A huge....HUGE....draw for the Harmony remotes is that anybody can swing by Best Buy and pick one up today.  Or a click on Amazon gets one to your house within a couple days.  Logitech offers top-notch Harmony customer support and responsiveness, and beyond that, there's a vast online community of Harmony users that communicate and help each other with the programming, which is already designed with the actual user/owner in mind.  This ease of purchase and use, and the terrific support at every level for the owner, defines the Harmony model.

Absolutely NONE of that applies to Nevo.  Why would anybody pay a custom-installer buco bucks for equipment and programming to end up with something that looks and feels and works a lot like their neighbor's Harmony?

Unless Nevo markets and supports this product line the way that Logitech markets and supports the Harmony line, which is pretty unlikely, I think they would err trying to pitch these models as Harmony alternatives.

i for one am happy to have lower end nevo remotes
to offer in homes. now we have options for the kitchens
and smaller rooms.

also the quick installs that could benefit from a cheap
rf remote thats similar in cost to an IR Kit.

i know that i have stopped selling IR kits since the URC MX450.
its so cheap with an RF Base and its sooo easy to program.
no pc required.

i just really want a rack mountable RF Receiver from nevo.
a central processor of sorts that stores that macros directly on it,
like the MSC-400.

i like nevo way better then URC, and they are starting
to compete better now with the low end remotes.
the more nevo makes, the more i will try and sell it .

You describe these as "lower-end. " Have you heard anything about pricing yet?

To me this makes no sense. The fact of convenience will not change a thing. Nevo is a custom installation product - you can do a hell of a lot more with a Nevo remote than you can with a Harmony. And the fact of convenience means nothing. That's like saying - why would anybody wait on a 15 month waiting list for a new ferrari when they can just swing in to the local Porsche dealer and pick one of those up? It's about market. Nevo and other companies make custom products for people looking for a certain type of experience. Harmony remotes are for people who all want the same experience. There is not an ounce of creativity, thinking or customizing when programming a Harmony remote. I would never survive selling Harmony with the types of things my customers ask for. Whether it's his or hers buttons, serial control, press and hold to do this, etc - no way with Harmony, no how. Harmony remotes are like that cute little economy car that you buy - you think it's cool, until you notice everyone else has one. It's affordable, and you had your eye on the higher model but feel like you got a great deal. Then you notice after awhile it's not fun to drive and it can't do what you need it to. Pretty soon you sell it or junk it and get a real car.

It's the same remote that Acoustic Research has been promoting all year. FCC approved it back in March, and it had an AR instead of NEVO label on it then.

This is pretty funny.. i just noticed the banner ad for this thing and took a screenshot because i recognized it. Came here and found i was late... as usual..

Why is this remote cool? Because it has every hard button that DirecTV has built right into it with the exception of ACTIVE, including the color buttons. Since DirecTV usually has more buttons than any other source it will be able to handle just about anything.

It has left and right hard buttons to navigate thru touchscreen pages so that you dont have to waste screen real estate with them.

I see a HOME & FAV icon on hard buttons but i cant make out the last 2 in that row. Either way.. you pretty much have the entire screen to play with because everything is a hard button. If its PC programmable and not some wizard based mumbo jumbo it will be a very nice addition to Nevo IMO.
