I don't have the option of tech support. I bought the uniton ebay and the seller will not reply to my questions or emails. I should still be under the 1 year warranty so I don't know how it would hurt him but that's the situation I'm in.

Chances are he's not an authorized dealer, so he can't facilitate an exchange with Nevo on your behalf. Did he present himself as an authorized dealer?

I don't recall if he presented himself as a authorized dealer, but I figured he was since he had the equipment. Is there any way another dealer would be able to send the unit back for programming?

By the way, are running NevoStudio on a Vista machine or XP? In Vista, I have noticed that the Nevo handhelds don't really like it when you setup a connection in the Mobile Center and the connection drops when Vista tries to sych with the device. I usually just select the "Connect without setting up your device" option and that works just fine.

Yes I usually connect without setting up device as well. It still won't see it. Any others with any ideas? I'm still without my remote. Sad because they're so expensive.

Thanks again

You cannot take the battery out of the Nevo Q50.

Sorry, but perfect reason to not buy on flea-bay. Unathorized reseller, here today, gone tomorrow and you now have a $700 paperweight.

No service, no support and UEI will not likely talk to you but will tell you to go back to your dealer.

We are a long-term Nevo dealer and we take care of our clients. Of course, that cost money and most flea-bay buyers try to save too much money and then they get stuck.

The last response here is a joke. What if someone bought a new remote from an authorized deaerl, but then sells the unit used on ebay.com? Are you saying that the manufacturer should not help the next owner with tech support?

What about a used car? If the manufacture said we will never speak to another person about a second hand car how fast do you think they would go out of business?

There is protecting your dealers and then there is alienating your customers, and that is exactly what the aim of that practice would be.

I was considering purchasing a Nevo product, but now that I know that you are saying that they are that arrogant I will avoid them.

I would imagine that IF you could show where the remote was ORIGINALY purchased that Nevo may help you.

They are trying to protect dealers from shonky eBay sellers.

A used item usually does not have ANY warranty as it is normally only for the original purchaser. Only a small amount of products have a transferable warranty.
