It does look pretty hot, but UEI have a habit of having at least one MAJOR fatal flaw to their designs... and I think I have found the flaw in the Nevo system for the pros.

The Nevo's issue look to be the Nevo link.

Even though Julie called the Nevo link a "Wi-Fi ti IR adapter", it doesn't look to be the case from it's cutsheet. I think it more appropriately an Ethernet to IR adapter...

It appears that you have to use your own dedicated wireless router to receive communication from the Nevo handset, then you need to hard wire the Nevo links to the router...

Not the best.

We cant always count on a spare CAT5 from every equipment location back to distribution.
Also, I would want to make this a dedicated system, which complicates the home's network and increases the expense of the system.
Worse yet, this makes a portion of a system that I am responsible for vulnerable to the hands of the 14 yr old trying to hook up XBOX live...

Aha, you are so right! I was wondering why msrp was only $200, when the going rate for these adapters (Wifi to IR) is $299. Don't see it as a big drawback, though. If it's not hear a Cat 5, just add a Wifi bridge for $50 or so.

Maybe for an enthusiast, but definitely not on a job where I am responsible for the bulletproof operation...

Although I may buy one to play with at my own house, they do look interesting.

Where did you see the ads. I have not seen them.
The product looks awsome.

We get a bunch of industry mags delivered to us, there was a full page ad in one, plus some smaller ones in others. AmberTech. will be the distributor here in OZ. I will be hassling John (the rep) the minute he walks in the door.

Brilliant, we deal with Amber.
