Had any luck yet BCM-OZ?
Problem is I have already sold a client three Nevos to be a inhouse audio system with media library access. Two will be for general inhouse and 1 for the home theatre. I think it will be fine as long as I can get a client such as the DSM working with the system. For the interim I will just put a second PC running Nevo player until I can sort it out. I am feeding the out put of the main music server PC and the client into an inhouse amp which will also be controlled by the Nevo.

Has anyone had more than one Nevo operating the same Nevo link and if so is there any issues with this?

I have the DSM-320 working fine with the Nevo Media Server. Very easy installation. I just did not install the DSM software and it saw the Nevo Media Center Server fine.

AFIK, there are no limitations which media server you point the Nevo SL's to. However, I have not tried it personally.

Sorry ddarche, but there is in Australia or so our rep tells us. The DSM sees the Nevo OK but the Nevo SL controls the DSM very irratically. Apparently we are not able to access the same V firmware as you guys.

Thanks for your input thought.

Hope I'm not replying to a dead thread...

I'm really on the fence re the Nevo -- been thinking about getting a demo for a week now. I like the size, the looks, the WiFi and the hard buttons. Unfortunately, based on the posts in the forum, it seems like the software just isn't quite there, yet. Maybe software/firmware upgrades will bring the product the rest of the way, but, maybe not. I see the potential, but don't want to waste my time demo-ing the product if it's not saleable.

Anywho, I've got a XP-based RAID 5 server at home, loaded with .flac and IFO files (that I could convert to WMA Lossless and .AVI files in order to use the Nevo Media Player software). I'd love to be able to stream these files from the server upstairs to the living room PC. Is it possible to stream files from a server for playback on any other PC on the network? Does the Nevo software need to be loaded on the server PC? If the Nevo software can be loaded on any PC in the network, does the server PC need to be running Windows? Or, can the Nevo software recognize Samba shares from a Linux box? I'd like to install the Nevo software on the PC in the living room and migrate the XP-based server to the Lime Technology unRaid Linux-based server software (www.lime-technology.com). If reading a Samba share over the network is out of the question, what about mapping the network drives to the local PC?

I was also wondering whether the Nevo could gather file metadata from any UPnP media server? J River Media Center can act as a UPnP server, and it can spit out an .xml file of the metadata of all music files it has cataloged. I ask bc JRMC supports .flac files and has an excellent database. The product is MUCH more solid than WMP.

Also, any support for the Global Cache GC-100? It would be nice to be able to add the serial control it provides.

Finally, has anyone looked at replacing the Nevo software with other software, such as NetRemote or Housebot, for more flexibility? What about adding a 'device' button on the Nevo that launches either NetRemote or Housebot? That way, one could have the flexibility of either NetRemote or Housebot using the Nevo form factor and hard buttons.

TIA.

Well, Nevo just came out with a 1.1 update, it has better WiFi performance, battery life and media streaming capabilities. It supports more UPnP Server/Player and better!

Check out the list of supported UPnP devices on mynevo.com
