I was searching the forums here and couldn't find an answer to my question... Does anyone know which IP cameras are compatible with NEVO S70 besides Panasonic and AXIS? Help is much appreciated!

Panasonic and AXIS have been used widely and have a good support structure. I would strongly recommend using either of them.

Why don't you want to use these brands?

However...

Just about any IP camera will work as long as it meets the basic requirements.

1. It must not need to run any software (like DirectX) to show the image. Most "cheap" IP cameras use this method.
2. It may be helpful if you can isolate the image from all the branding crap they put around the control page. I.E. If you went to 192.168.1.25 for the front door camera you would normally see the image but there would also be some branding and other crap on the screen. You really want to be able to just show the image.
3. it would also be useful if it could output motion jpeg. I.E. individual images.

Talk to your supplier, they may have a loan unit that you can try before you purchase them.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I am using Panasonic BL-C230A now, but the problem is I am using this camera as a baby monitor and it is absolutely horrible with low/no lights as it doesn't have a built-in night vision. I couldn't find any name-brand cameras that have night-vision/wireless/WPA2 in one package... for resonable ~$200-300 price tag. Closest thing I found that meets all the requirements is FOSCAM 8919 [Link: foscam.us] but was in doubt if it will work with Nevo S70... If it uses ActiveX than my question is: Is it possible to write a widget for it instead of using Nevo's browser? Any advise is appreciated!

Probably not.

Your only hope is if you can request a still image.

Although looking at the site it does not mention ActiveX so you may be in luck.

Try asking for a copy of the instruction manual, this may have more details.

EDIT.
I found the manual. It looks like you may need to use ActiveX. Sorry.

Thanks for all your help! I think it is still possible as it uses activex only for sound communication only, in the manual it says that browsers aside from IE with no activex support will work, but with no sound. Also, MJPEG is supported which gives me hope. I will try it and will definately post the results here.

P.S. Just read up on Foscam website that besides ActiveX it supports "Server push mode" for Chrome and Firefox which is in fact uses no ActiveX. If I manage to set it up this weekend I will post all setings and possibly a new Widget for it.

Sounds good.

Good luck.

You will find two Panasonic widgets here (login may be required):

They may help.

Hi maksim, did that IP camera work out for you and your S70? I'm looking to do the same type of thing (baby monitor). Don't own a Nevo remote yet, but love the features. Just holding back to see if Nevo is going to survive or not before I make the investment.

I'd love to have the ability to view the baby monitor on my remote. It looks like the camera will work with my Droid phone so even if Nevo doesn't make it, it will be useful.

Has the camera made a good baby monitor for you?
Thanks in advance!

Actually there are a lot of problems with this particular camera... It has a lot of limitations including but not limited to droping Wi-Fi, inablility to put camera with reserved MAC and DHCP (if you are using Windows Server and Domain setup) I will post later on when I get my hands on it again.
