I am looking for a simple touch screen remote. I don't know or want to learn about discreet codes (or indiscreet ones either). These units are such a good idea in concept. But, the reality of programing, debuging, and using them is really intimidating. I saw the neo at Best Buy. It looked so innocent and simple. All of these postings have jusy about convinced me to get a board and some duct tape and tape all of my remote units to the board. Any suggestions or recommendations? Thanks.

I am the same way. Trust me, the Neo is very easy to use. You simply have to use your mouse to create the perfect remote. No code bullshit. I have had it for two days and have programmed it to turn on my whole system and proceed to act as my "cable remote" without touching anything. Basically, once I press "system on," I start to change channels. So easy. The only thing I can't figure out yet is how to make the backlight come on every time I press the screen and how to customize the initial screen. It really is a great toy. You should definitely get it.

To keep the backlight on, and have it activate when you touch the screen, go to MODE and set the backlight past 120 sec to "ON". You must have the firmware update and run NEOEdit 1.3.
