My computer will not recongnize my remote. I have disconnected and reconnected the remote from the computer. I have tried both com port hook ups and I have disconnected all other com port devises all with no positive results. Is there something Im missing related to the remote or does this sound like a problem with my computers com ports? Let me know what you think. Thanks

Hi,
This may be a dumb question but have you checked the device manager to see if your com ports are listed? I know many PC's have them turned off in the BIOS or there might be a conflict that never gets taken care of cause they don't get used much.

Jeff might be suggesting that you have HotSync or other palm computer software running that would tie up the port even if nothing was connected to it??

I manually changed mine in the registry. Export a backup copy before you begin! [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Philips Electronics N.V.\NEOedit\1, 3, 4, 0\Settings] Connection = I went through them one at a time and finally 3 seemed to talk to COM2:. It works fine for upload and download now. Courtesy of Phil (not my fix but it works!)
