I looked around and didn't see reports of this happening to anyone else, so I'm wondering...
Has anyone ever bricked their Pronto Neo by performing a firmware update?
I did last night and the remote refused to turn on even though the firmware update software said that the update was a success.
When I try to upload a configuration with NeoEdit, it says that it's "not made to work with this remote." or something like that.
Any idea what I can do to get the thing up-and-running again? Repeated presses of the reset button have done nothing. Removing the batteries hasn't caused any change...
I'm tempted to move the software to another machine and try that since I've seen some messages about serial port flakiness...

Well, switched to another older computer with different serial port hardware and was able to ressurect the remote by flashing the firmware again.
It all seems to be working fine now including NeoEdit and NeoHacker.
Problem solved. As mentioned in other threads, just try a different machine until you find one with a serial port that works...
