My favorite difference is the full sized ir flasher jacks for direct plug in. The output level can be adjusted. The antenna can be remotely mounted/extended. Narrow band rf when used with MX-900 and a few other models.

The MRF-300 is not a narrow band becuase it uses the RFX-150. It would be narrow band if you bought an RFX-250 to plug into the MRF-300 because the RFX is the RF receiver not the MRF-300 base unit.

There has been mention of an MRF-350 which is basically an MRF-300 packaged with an RFX-250 to make it narrow band. I don't know if they are shipping, we haven't tried to order them yet.

I agree with CCD on the 3.5MM flasher jacks vs the 2.5MM jacks on the MRF-250 As well as the adjustable IR output level. Also the ability to adjust the antenna gain on the RFX-150 is nice.

the 300 seems to be more reliable/easier to use
