Hello guys,

I'm planning to buy a new remote. I already have a MX-500 and was thinking on a PC programable one. My options are the MX-700 or Harmony 880 or 720 and HK TC-30.
Which one do think would be my best selection?
Thanks in advance.

I've read that the only thing that the Harmony line of remote can do that the MX's cant is that they (harmonys) can remember which components are on or off.
Is that true?

That's true, but if you have discrete on/off commands for the components (many of which are in the database), it doesn't matter. The MX-950 and 3000 have a feature called "variables" which can do the same thing the Harmonys do. The problem I have with the Harmonys is that you can't put a macro on any button.

By the time you actually get a remote and start programming the MX-900 will have variables. I hope....

It's supposed to get limited variable support, but should be enough to control keeping the remote aware of whether it sent a power on or off code or not.
When ignorance is bliss, ‘tis folly to be wise.
