Hey all, I want to know if anyone knows of an AD for the URC line (specificly the MX3000) in Memphis TN I know the New MHT in the BestBUY started to carry them 3 weeks ago. But anyone else?

If no how does one go about becoming a AD/programmer for this line?

That is the issue. I have sent 3 emails, made 5 phone calls and the only reply I ever git was from a very nice person named Eric. And ultimatly he said there are several in Memphis. But did not give specifics.

I guess i can try again.

LOL like I said NO ONE IN MEMPHIS. the only 2 numbers in Memphis have a recording of a AV shop alright. But after you leave 2 messages and wait a week, I guess one can assume it is not legitimate. JUST my luck

Any other suggestions? I still would love to know what I can do to become a authorized agent. I went to BB yesterday and was told even if I buy a remote from them, they will not give you access to the updates unless you use there programming service. Not that is BS.

If any one knows how to become a agent/programmer, please let me know.

Why don't you just order from an online dealer who will give you the s/w?

You can get a much lower prices that way ...

Because I really would like to start programming for others. I programmed mine (that I bought off ebay) in about 8 hours. Using the MRF300 controlling 2 400 Disc players, Yamaha Receiver, DVR, Front Projector, XBOX360 and light system. With 1 touch button "activity" functionality.
SO i thought, if I got proper training. I could make some money with this thing. I absolutly fell in love with this remote.
I was told by Eric to meet someone local. Well if BB is the only local here that will do it. Then I say they need some competion.

I guess I still don't understand.

If you want to program remotes for $$$, go advertise and find a client. If they don't already own a remote have them buy one from an A/D who will supply the s/w. And then use their s/w to program their remote.

If you want to someone to hire you and teach you, I guess you'd have to apply for a job to somewhere like Best Buy and work your way up to a role as a remote programmer for their CI department.

If you want to become an authorized dealer for URC, then you need to create a business (apply for a business license) and then fill out whatever forms and meet URC's requirements for becoming one. I'm sure at that point they'll make you aware of any training programs they offer.
