In order to get the best answer to my question, allow me to share my setup....

I have a wall unit with 55 inch Fujitsu Plasma in between 2 towers. Each tower contains a pseudo rack. all components (both sides) are behind a glass door. Now for my components:

Fujitsu 55 inch plasma
Toshiba x-a1 hd-dvd
Jvc Dm5tu d-vhs
Tivo Series 3
Better Cables 5-1 HDMI switcher
Theta Casablanca pre-amp
Theta Dreadnaught power amp
Theta Six Shooter

I have connected the mrf-300 and rfx-100 antenna which i've placed on top of wall unit as far away from equipment as possible...I have connected the ir flashers to:

port 1: Fujitsu plasma
port 2: Theta Casablanca...(dreadnaught and six shooter power with Casablanca)
port 3: HDMI switcher...
port 4: Tivo Series 3 (yes i've read about the infrared issues with placement near plasmas...i've had none of the reported issues...my remote works fine)
port 5: Toshiba HD-DVD
Port 6: JVC D-vhs

As for my configuration in the mx-900 as far as rf control in the software goes:

A. I've set the receiver i.d. to 9 in the software and on the bottom of the mrf-300.
B. All have signal to ir & rf
C. I've set each flasher to corresponding line (port #)
D. I have the IR blaster off...

My equiment is only operating properly with good line of sight...what am i doing wrong? i don't need for this to work through walls or in different rooms, etc. etc..i simply need to be able to be able to press one button and not have to stand there while the macros are doing there thing....please advice what might get me over the hump on this one...

So the equipment is in a closed cabinet? First go back to the software an change everything to RF only for anything that's behind closed doors and a flasher is attached. Any other device that's line of sight should be set for IR only.

You need to take it step by step. I'd start with IR turned off, and Blaster turned off. Try to control everything with it's emitter.

1) Verify that the correct emitter lights up when you address it.

2) Switch to address 0 on the MRF's base, and check for RF interference. There's an activity light on both the antenna AND in the base. Check Both!!! Turn down the gain on the antenna until any interference goes away and for the sake of debugging just turn it down all the way.

3) Turn down the output of the emitters themselves. I doubt there's a case the lowest setting isn't strong enough. The light on the emitters will be very dim.

4) Switch it back to IR 9.

5) Some of your devices should be working. If some of them aren't see if they start working if you pull the emitter off of the sensor and back it away. If this is the case then either mount the emitter somewhere else on the unit (not directly over the eye) or somewhere else in the rack. You can also experiment with putting a piece of black tape over the IR pickup sensor, with or without a pinhole in it, or you can try placing some double sided removable black foam mounting tape between the emitter and the sensor. There's a little piece included with the MRF but be carefull, it's thick and permanent.

Nah, he just wants to be able to click a macro and put the remote down without it dropping some of the commands because it's no longer pointed at the equipment.

But the IR from the remote may be interfering with the signal from the MRF-300 so he should eliminate that possibility, at least until he has the RF part working.
