Hi,
I just purchased and MX-500 for my Home Theater. MY HT receiver is a Marantz SR-6200. I have noticed the following two things that I hope the forum members can help me on.
1) When I program a macro to one o fthe hard buttons to power up the system and boot it onto one of its modes (e.g., cable), the sequence works fine at startup. When I press the same button to turn the components off, they a shut off but then the SR-6200 mysteriously turns on again (the TV and cable box stay off). Any thoughts
2) Does anyone know a way to program the surround mode options into one key (e.g., pressing one button toggles through all of the surround modes vice dedication one button for each thereby wasting six buttons.
2a) is there a preferred preprogram code for the MArantz SR6200 that works the best. I basically had to program the MX-500 in learn mode for all components because I didnt have much success witht he preprogrammed codes
I like th eremote but I am still in macro mode
THANKS

Muleman, don't know if this will help at all with your #1, but I had the same problem with a Sony receiver, as discussed here: [Link: remotecentral.com]. That thread also links another thread with some more suggestions.

You need to execute your macro manually step by step. Sometimes receivers turn on when sent codes other then power. If you can find discrete power on and off codes for all your devices you can setup one macro to power everything up, and another to power everything down.
