I have the irClone-MX USB product which enabled the MX-500 to be programmed using a PC.

It looks like the irClone-MX web page was recently removed along with the software, Could someone possibly link this software for download so I can get irClone working again?

I have it. I sent you email containing a link to it.

For anyone else who comes across this thread in the future, feel free to contact me for the link. Although the software was freely downloadable just a few months ago, it is still a copyrighted work. Therefore, I'm reluctant to post it publicly. However, I'll be happy to send it to anyone who asks me via email.

How can we get the unlock key for the software now that the IRClone site is down? Or maybe the last version was sent unlocked. I have version 1.10 build 100.

The last versions on the irclone.com website did not require any keys or registration.

You just missed one on ebay. It went for $66. Typically, an IRClone-MX will show up on ebay or in the marketplace forum every few months.

Gilbert, will you e-mail me the link please? I've lost mine, and want to reprogram my remote.

Thanks,

Mike

Just curious, how would you PC program the MX-500 when it has no port to connect to a PC?

irclone took advantage of the "clone" feature on the mx-500. You can clone one mx-500 to another (via ir), so the irclone folks (and others) essentially reverse engineered the ir data stream that was being passed during the cloning process. They built a box (that connected to the PC via USB) that could send and receive this ir data stream and wrote software that could interpret the data. The software was similar to the current software from URC. It was really quite slick.

I just bought my second MX-500 and am having problems learning commands from my Philips HTS 6500. Might the IR Clone help with this problem?

I have a USB IR link. I am hoping the IR Clone software would work with this. Can someone send me the software so I can try it out? I would be most grateful.
