Hi there,

I just received my MX3000 yesterday.

I installed the software and did a Live Update.

Having checked for some of my models, it appeared that the IR codes had not updated. As an example, there was still no code for the Pioneer PDP506 range.

I then attempted a further Live Update and a message told me that I had to contact my dealer for a URL and password to get hold of the "Complete Control Suite" as the software I had installed was no longer supported (or something along those lines).

My dealer has no clue what to do.

Any advice?

Sorry, I now see the thread on this very topic.

I have approached my dealer and they state that I must go to them to check and get the software updates each time they come out.

How will I know and why on earth should I go to the dealer each time costing me a fortune in travelling costs?

The message on the current software says the dealer will give me a url and login. Whats up?

It sounds as though your dealer is probably not autorized by URC. These URC unauthorized dealers typically get the latest updates through the same backdoor channels as they get the product. They themselves don't have access the online updates. You could call URC and see if they are an authorized dealer. If not you could return you remote and get it from an authorized source.

Well the dealer appears to be authorised.

They have now e-mailed me the software which is apparently 1.20.154.

Interestingly enough, that is the exact same version as my software originally upgraded to.

Is this the latest version available?

If so, I find it odd that it does not have the codes in for my PDP506XDE. Stranger since another dealer told me that it did have those codes.

URC doesn't always have the newest version of equipment. If the previous model's codes are unchanged, they don't update it. They still have the codeset from Marantz's 400 series of receivers (SR7400, etc.) which is two years old. The codes are exactly the same for the 7600, so they didn't update it. Have you tried using other similar model numbers of the one you are looking for?

Also, the version of the MX3000 software I have is the same. If they gave you the authorized copy of the software, you should be able to do all future Live Updates without any problems. If they gave you the old version, you'll just receive the 'please contact your dealer' message again.

Allrighty well that solves one issue as it is at least trying to further live update and telling me i have the latest so I guess it is the real deal.

I am going to borrow a lappy and try out other codes and if not I guess I will have to learn them.

Ta for the replies.
