I HAVE SOLD AND PROGRAMMED 100'S OF MX REMOTES... BEEN SELLING MOSTLY MX850'S FOR A WHILE... JUST STARTED WITH THE 900. IS THE 950 WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY FOR THE CRADLE/BATTERY CHARGER AND WHEN YOU PICK IT UP OR PRESS A BUTTON THE LIGHT COMES ON????? I REALLY DO NOT NEED THE VARIABLE FEATURE.. WHAT DO YOU GUY'S THINK???? AM I NOT SELLING UP ENOUGH????

THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT... CHARLIE.

I prefer the 90, I see a rechargeable battery as a downside, where as when the battery dies you now have an unoperable remote and now a service call and an unhappy customer to boot. however with the 900 all the customer has to do is change the alcaline batteries and they are all set. no service call.

You will be more than happy with the 900 if you don't need more than the 2 or 3 variables that the 900 will have.

The 950 has more functionality, but as nice as a rechargeable remote is, good ol' NiMH battteries with a recharger go a long way in that regard for the 900, plus the charger can be used for other purposes.

The 900 is lighter and better balanced, IMHO.

If you don't need the number of LCD buttons showing at one time also, then I say 900. I think the SKIP+ and - buttons are better implemented as well.

If you need the functionality of the 950, it is a great remote. If you don't, you won't be sorry with the 900, which has more functionality than the 850 (support for narrow RF for one thing) and has a great button layout.

Greg

Eric has said that in the future, the new 850s will support the narrow band RFX250.

Where are you getting your information. My information tells me that the 850 will NOT support the narrow band RF that is used by the RFX-250 antenna, either now or in the future.

When he stated that the MX-3000, TX-1000, MX-950, and MX-900 supported it, he also mentioned that the MX-850 does not, with no mention of upcoming 850's supporting it.
