I have problems with my MX500, there is only something running on the screen, no button works. Is it possible to reset the remote-control. Unplugging the batteries doesn't help.

No, the only fix is to send it in to URC. I had the same thing happen with my mx-600, cost nothing even though it was out of warrenty.

Try taking the batteries out for ten minutes, and putting in brand new batteries. Then press and hold MAIN and ENT for a few seconds.
Unfortunately, if that doesn't work you'll need to send it in for repair.
