Alot, pro & con. The macros on the RF30 are global, meaning you can only have one macro on the OFF & ON keys, the same macro shows up in all devices and main screen. Where on the urc-300 there can be a different macro on the OFF key in every device and whole different one on the MAIN page.

The backlighting on the RF30 is red, where its green on the urc300.

On the urc300, if you change a device say from cable to a second tv, the labels are still cable box commands even though the commands are tv. But on the RF30, the labels switch along with commands. Also just programming a SAT code to dvd device changes the device name to SAT. So if you want to program AUX 155 to all devices before teaching on the RF30, make sure that's your first operation because all device and label names will change to AUX, wiping out any previous editing you might have done.

I am a little confused. Are you saying that if I switch devices from lets say the DVD to VCR from the main menu that the labels displayed under the VCR menu will still be the labels for the DVD? That is hard to believe and if that is correct, who would want the URC-300 or URC-200 remotes?

No, I mean when you reprogram a device as another. On the urc-300 the labels are fixed, the labels in the upper left device key, default TV device, will continue to be for tv's, even though the commands assigned to them via say vcr code will change. But with the RF30 & RF20, the labels change as well as the commands to the new P-PRO code.

Thanks for your reply.I now see what you are talking about.

Essentially you only end up with a little extra work involving the editing of the labels on the lcd for the new device. That does not seem to be too difficult of a task to accomplish.

Now I have to decide on whether to purchase the URC-300 or the URC-200. It's nice having eight rather than five menu items on a page but I'm afraid that the touch screen on the URC-300 will not give me enough positive feedback when pressed.

Anyone have any opinions on the two units and on the URC-300's touch screen?

For me, I hate the urc-200 with a passion. Too much scrolling is needed during use and programming. My remotes of choice are the urc-300 & RF30.

I use the mx 350 and URC200 with a lot of success. most of my clients don't really need that many lcd buttons.
That said, I would love to have the labels move when I change the layout like the RF30 does.
