It really is not hard to get the new updates. All I had to do was remove the new software and re-install a previous version which will let you update to the latest database. Downside is that this has to be done each time as once URC updates you, you will loose the update feature until you do the re-install again. On the upside for the 700 and 800 you can also use the B&K SR10.1 Editor Version 1.12.258 which retains the update feature and the only difference is in a couple of .dll files that URC uses to kill the feature. I did a comparison and the data files for the different models are the same.

When you do a live update on the old software, it will only update to the next version. The software never updates to the newest version. If you had a copy of the 850 editor that was 5 updates old, and you do a live update, it's still 4 updates old and you have to keep updating to get the newest version. If you install an old copy of the editor and do a live update, it does not update to the newest database. Keep updating that old version you have and eventually you will get the error message preventing further updates.

And as for the SR10.1 editor, it will work for the 800 and 850, but you won't be able to edit the RF settings.

I have downloaded the latest version of the program for the 700, 800, 850, 900 and 950 and the data files are exactly the same as the older version after a live update. Also I have had no problem changing the RF settings with the SR10.1 editor on my MX-800. The MX-700 and the MX-800 are the same program.

URC hasn't updated the database since July 25th, so both versions (pre Aug. 1 and post Aug. 1) will have the same v1.76 IR database.

And I don't know what version of the SR10.1 software you are using, but there are no RF settings in it.

Do you need Complete Control Suite to get updates, or will the individual device software (eg MX-900 editor) be able to get updates too as long as you don't have the crippled version?

If you use the correct format and not the CK1.2 templates the RF editor is there! Try again.

Why not just delete the extraneous dll files to reactive Live Update?

Care to enlighten me? I'm just simply opening an existing MX800 file and there are no RF options. It's not listed under Program. Just 1 - 8 are.

Don't know what to tell you then. It is listed under mine. I sent you a picture of mine with the option of RF control showing.

OK I ran into your problem yesterday. If you read the remote with the B&K software there won't be and RF option. If you open a file or read the remote with the Universal Remote program that you had edited the RF options in and saved with the Universal Remote program then opened it with the B&K program the RF options will be there. It would seem that the RF options disappear in the B&K program if you read the remote first.
