Anyone know if dealers are selling the RFX-250 seperate from the MSC-400? If so what's the MSRP?

MSRP is $99.95. Still waiting for them to arrive.

Yes. They make a world of difference if you have RF interference with the RFX-150. You just need to be sure you are using a remote build date after narrowband capabilities were added.

Thank you,

The MX-900, 950, TX-1000 are all compatible. Any MX-3000 built on or after April 1, 2005 are compatible.

From my testing, any MX-850 will work as well, but you will not get the benefit of the narrow band RF.

Greg,
MX3000's after April 1 are compatible? I thought I heard Nov. 2005.
If that's right, that may save my tail on one job.

April 1, 2005 is the correct date. Nov. 2005 was erroneously posted earlier, but subsequently corrected by the poster.

I have a MX-3000 with a version O/S of 4.20.001.004N2 (Apr 6 2005) firmware #2.23.5.60627. Did I make it or how do I tell if my MX-3000 has narrow band. My current home has no RF problems but I will be in RF hell with my new house.

Open the back, remove the battery and look on the label with the bar code. The first 6 digits will tell you the build date. For example if the 6 digits are 091806 it was built Sept 18, 2006.

The date of the OS may not be a good indicator if you had it serviced at any point it could be an older remote with updated software. The only way to be sure of the hardware is to find the build date on the serial number label.

The date of the OS software (which happens to be Windows CE), the firmware, or the Editor software has no bearing on this. Like Ericjb has said, it is the date on the serial number that is the crucial one.

Well it says 04/05/05 so I guess I'm OK if the cut off is 04/01/05.
Thanks for the info guys.

The date on the MRF shouldn't matter.

The smart thing about the new system URC has for the RF products is that the RF circuitry is in the RFX unit. The RFX picks up the RF signal and sends only the data to the MRF where it can be evaluated. There is NO RF circuitry in the MRF itself. This allows URC to keep improving their RF circuitry and sell them seperately as new RFX units. This allows us to easily upgrade RF performance by plugging in a new RFX. And obviously this also allows us to move the antenna farther away from the noisy home theater equipment.
