Is anyone having the same problem as me?

I quite often get an UP, and sometimes a DOWN when I push the Cursor Pad to the RIGHT. For me, it is almost always when pushing it RIGHT, although very occassionally it does it when going LEFT (1 in 100).

I notice that the pad actually pivots on a 45 degree angle rather than 90 degrees, so it tends to rock up or down easily when you press LEFT or RIGHT - again, much more so to the RIGHT.

The almost identical cursor pad on my MX-950 does not have this problem.

There is a very small "sweet spot" for RIGHT, whereas for UP, there is a very wide "sweet spot".

Any others out there experiencing this?

Thanks.

Greg

Yep. The service call I went out on friday was just as you discribed.
When pressing right, the remote gives a down command more than half the time.

I hope this is only an isolated or small batch problem. We've got a bunch of these remotes out there.

I had the same problem with my first 900. I am on my 3rd one right now. Neither it or the last one had that problem. However, I am having other button press issues as noted in this thread which Greg has noticed also.

Thanks Mitch!

Yes, it apparently has been fixed in later production runs guys, and it looks like the other buton press issue might very well be firmware, so I'm going to exchange mine.

The thumbpad issue was driving me crazy!

Greg,

I wouldn't expect an exchange to solve the problem with button press issue. I would imagine only a firmware update will fix that.

I have the same thing with the TX-1000 but's it's the left press that's so narrow a range.

I would contact your dealer and exchange it for a new one.

Yes indeed! The bottom of the screen is always brighter then the top of the screen. You would think they would have noticed this flaw in the early stages of design and fixed the problem prior to release to the public.
