I have a URC-200 with a URC-100 base unit. I've loved everything about this setup except the hours I've spent trying to get it to learn discrete codes that I need for my macros etc.

I've recently purchased a Pioneer receiver that just refuses to be learned by the URC-200, so I'm wanting to get a PC programmable remote. Since I love my current form factor, I'm thinking that my best/cheapest option is the MX-800, right? Does anyone know if the MX-800 will work with my URC-100?

Yes, I use a 600, 800 and a 900 with the MRF100. For a few bucks more you may want to check out the 900, don't let the msrp put you off. Many of the authorized dealers on this forum can give you excellent prices and service.

Yes, The MRF 100 will work fine with the mx-800, the MRF 200 just has multiple settings availabe so more than one can be used. The default setting on the mx-800 is #0 and this is the setting the MRF 100 is factory set to and cannot be changed as the MRF 200 can. Anyway yes it works fine.

I have the mx-800 myself personally I think it is nicer than a 900 or 950 but that is a matter of choice. I don't care for the styling or the WATCH / LISTEN and misc changes the 900 has, if you like your 200 you will love the 800

Sorry I edited this to correct the default is #0 (I first said #1)

I agree that the MX-900 is a better remote. You get a lot more for your money - USB connection, 40 devices, 40 pages per device, chapter/track skip hard buttons, etc.

Thank you,
