I did not want to hijack Irving Berlin's thread with what could be a similar problem. I just got an MRF-300 and the RF is not controlling 3 out five pieces of equipment. I have tried using the same emitter, in turn, at all equipment locations. It works for the pre/pro and the VHS, but not for the projector, the Verizon box, and the Kenwood 9000 units. The software is set at IR/RF sending mode and the equipment responds to an existing IR pick-up eye I presently have in the wall next to the screen, this means that I have previously located the IR spot for all equipment.

In I. Berlin's thread something was mentioned about:

1- reducing the IR signal
2- Make sure MRF-300 and software have been set to something other than Receiver ID 0.
3- IR saturation -- Happens if all signals are sent to all emitters. Make sure software set so that IR is only sent to emitter attached to that device. If not possible for some reason cover emiiters with hoods or tape so that overall IR level is lowered. You can test by covering entire front of device and seeing if it starts responding to commands. Typically, blaster should be turned off in software.

How do you implement 1 and 2 above?

Number 3 would not seem to apply since I am testing the equipment using only one emitter, however, how can one dedicate the signal per the numbered output connection on the MRF-300?

I am also getting a 404 error when trying to access the link posted in that thread.

Thank you for your help.

You should be setting your MRF-300 for RF only, not IR/RF. You're equipment may be getting an IR signal from the remote (through your hardwired IR repeater) and another slightly delayed version from the MRF. This can cause issues like you are seeing.

Easy to try. Let us know if this helps.

I will answer my own question since I have a copy of the software at the office and noticed that the IR can be dedicated to channels 1-6 instead of "all". I guess these channels correspond with the emitter numbers in the MRF-300.

Also for number 2 above, does one have to change the receiver ID from "default", how does one do that? And, what piece of equipment is the "receiver" that one adds on the box below, is that the MRF-300? I added the MRF-300 and was assigned a receiver ID 1.

Never mind again, when I added the MRF-300 below, I now have a choice from "default" above.

I will try these changes as soon as I get home and will post the results.

Thank you for the information on Irving Berlin's thread.

Thank you Dino. That was my first concern, so I did disconnect the IR emitter before testing. I will follow your suggestion of RF only.

Thank you.

The MRF-300 has a dial on the bottom of it. You must change this from ID0 to something else, and it must match what you selected in the software.

Yes, receiver is the MRF-300 base unit.

Update for those who helped me and for those who might benefit. Sorry for the delay in updating, I was on vacation.

The MRF-300 is working. I changed the MX-3000 signal to RF on all dedicated emitters and used a 2 second delay between commands in the macros. I also changed the ID number so that it corresponds between the two units. So far the only hiccup I have encountered was when I forgot that the macro was not finished and I tried to send another signal. The macro did not function properly. Other than that, everything seems to work as designed. I will post if I encounter any other problems.

Thank you all for your help.
