What gives? I'm looking for some hex codes for a Zenith C32V37 tv and downloaded a confguration file (c32v37.mxd) from this website. I thought I would need the MX-700 Editor to view the file, but after installing it and trying to open the file, it defaults to .mxf files only. What wrong here?

You can't directly use .mxd files in the MX Editor's Universal Browser. You can create a .mxf file from the .mxd by using the MX-700/MX-800/MX-850 Editor by:
1. Create a new empty configuration
2. Right click on Main in the tree structure in the left panel and choose Import Device.
3. In the file dialog that appears, choose the .mxd file.
4. The Import Device dialog appears and click on the device name in the Available Device(s) panel, click on the > button and click the OK button in the Device Assign panel that pops up.
5. Click the Save button and you should now see the device in the tree structure.
6. Save the .mxf file and use that in the MX Editor Universal Browser to copy the IR codes.

Close...

I just looked over the owners manual (duh) and found the import option. Got to the Device Assign panel, but the 'Save' button is disabled and I can't get past that.

It's the 'OK' button that's disabled.

Just found the Universal Browser in the Editor. Opened up the saved .mxf file and looked over the buttons. In the Action List box I see 'Learned Data'. Does that mean I can't get the IR codes off of this configuration?

In the Universal Browser, you drag and drop the Learned Data (Action List) to the buttons in the MX remote image. Alternately, you can drag and drop the button icons in the Panel View.

Woch, only learned commands can be dragged and dropped from the UB. This goes for Pronto files (.ccf) as well.
