With a lot of volunteer time from Ken Paul (Kep1A),
we've been able to solve one of the problems causing
some of the Lock Ups described on this page. Everyone
here owes Ken a lot for his volunteer work!

I owe allot of gratitude to Lane (ljckbailey) as well as some others who helped me to identify, exploit, and work around the problem. It has been a leaning experience.

This remote truly Rocks :)

I sent Eric a note. I've already had one lockup on my device since the update. Hopefully? it will be the last. SJ

Well i've had the new software for 3 days now and it is solid as a rock for my use. I have even done some significant program changes like add 2 new devices and add 700 DVDs with DMX3000 program and no issues with lockups, program downloads etc.

Im not using variables but i intend to shortly so i will await the new program before i start programming macros using these.

I looked at the update history and look what we have available now.
I am sure the delay fix was included because I tested for that and it no longer locks up. :)

Hi Mr. Ridenour,

Thank Ken for this, he spent many hours with me, testing and stripping out extraneous features to give the programmers a file that was like a road map to fix the problem!

Best Regards,

-Eric

Thanks Eric,
The enlarged variable drop down box will help me immensely with ensuring that I am using/tracking the correct variable. This will definitely pacify me until URC has justification or opportunity to revamp the program and allow the variable names to be edited without breaking the links and possibly include notation length labeling with a mouse-over feature. Hint Hint LOL :-)

Good as my remote just locked up again. Once again it locked up during the "Pulse On" phenomenon that I mentioned above. SJ

SJ, just to be clear, the latest update (dated April 24) is supposed to fix the lock-up conditions. This is the release that Eric is talking about.

So, are you still running with the previous version?

Anybody know why when I click the live update button on my MX Editor software I get a prompt telling me "Fail to Download the Patch Info File"? I can close that window and try again and it usually will work the second time... Am I the only one who has this happen?

Yes, that has happenned to me. It is probably your PC security stopping the download. You must change your Firewall settings to allow the download to pass through. Sometimes you may have to temporarily disable it too.

I also just temporarily disable the firewall and then do the update. By the way, so far NO LOCKUPS with the new software!!! :)
