We have been using the (3) URC-8910's to control three different Home Theatre areas on three different floors (townhouse). Sounds like we got lottsa money - eh?
There is no High Definition, largest TV is analogue 27", Receivers/DVD players/Speakers are low end (ebay) Sony, Onkyo, Panasonic.........you get the idea!!

THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM BEGINS!!!!
As a computer/techie junkie I just put together a computer based PVR/DVR system using a front end called GBPVR (free - works great). Hardwired ethernet connection to other floors, for audio/video distribution to a Hauppuage MVP.

Lottsa button pushes on the URC-8910, for inputs/outputs and finally "out of memory".
The device is maxed out.......no more teaching!!
OK looked into the JP1 bought the cable, gonna give it a shot.

Really don't like the looks of the Harmony remotes, reminds me of a "Mr Potato Head" after sitting on a counter for a week. (if you have grey hair, you'll know of what I speak).

Enough jibberish, the MX-500 seems as though it will handle all of the components!
Will it?
- Will it be around in 6 months. My plan would be buy 2 now and the third later 6 mos or so.
- Its important for the WAF that all remotes be the same, even though all the components are different, all keys perform the same function.

In an ideal world, I'd cough up $1,000 buy 3 Mx-700's and move on........

Thanks for your patience
Rick

It will handle up to 10 components, no limitation on learning.

Probably, but it's not being produced anymore so it's hard to say when supplies will run out.

I don't know about an ideal world, but you could get 3 of them for less than $500 right now. :-)
