Working on a job now w 8 zones of audio, and a seperate "Theatre Room" The Theatre room is NOT one of the 8 audio zones. I will more than lilely be using a Russound CAV, or CAM, with either a 100 disc CD changer, or (more likely) an Escient SE-80.
I would like to be able to use the Escient or the CD changer in the Theaster room, but use the better audio system in that room verses a DA speaker system. (Hence that room NOT being one of the audio zones) The Escient or CD changer will be in the equipment room, no the Theatre room. I have wiring in place for getting audio from the equipment room to the AVR in the theatre room.
What I need to know is if the Russound can be controlled from a URC piece, and if this will be problematic when using the Russound with the S1 or S2 keypads in hte rest of the system. I am not concerned about being able to use the CD changer or Escient SIMULATANEOUSLY with other zones. I just need a control solution for the DA system, when there will be NO keypads in the Theatre room.
any opinions?

If I'm understanding this correctly;
Run a seperate 'audio out' of the Escient or cd changer to the theater. Use a URC remote to control that (along with the theater) with an mrf-300 or ir a repeating system.
You can control the Russound sytem as well with the URC remote bu you don't necessarily have to route the Escient through the Russound to have sound in the theater.

There are code in the database for the Russound keypads. They work quite nicely. Thank you, Damon DG = = = = = http://www.ProRemotes.com - Authorized Dealer & Remote Programming Services

I just wanted to make sure having TWO control sources for the Russound (in-wall KP in other rooms, AND the URC in theatre room) wouldnt knock things out of whack. And again, I am NOT concerned about simultaneous use of the Russound in the theatre room and the rest of the house. It will either be one or the other.

Thank you, Damon DG = = = = = http://www.ProRemotes.com - Authorized Dealer & Remote Programming Services Meaining I could emulate the in-wall keypads w a URC product, without actually HAVING the keypad in the theatre room, correct? i.e., its not just a portable solution to point AT the in-wall keypad? (as there wont BE one in the theatre room)

Frank, Actually, you need the remote to communicate with the keypad directly. Either you can run an emitter to it or you can point at it...either way, the commands need to go through the IR sensor on the pad.
