I want my macro to say power on everything and tgo set it to go to the hdmi input... I have it all working but how do i make the remote know how to change the inputs on the tv?? Is there a trick to tell it to go to HDMI or to Component1 automatically? This is on a urc-200. thanks in advance!! Lee

never programmed a 200, but the macro string should start something like this:
plasma-on device 1-on device 2-on device 3-on device 4-on plasma-input selection
if you have an audio source other than the tv, then insert commands like , receiver- input DVD, and so on.
given that most video display devices do not respond right away to IR commands you want to make the video display device on command the first thing in the macro string, and make the input selection for the video display device the last in the string. If it does not work, then you may need to insert delays until the video display device will respond to the IR commands. If you do not know how long that is you can test it by powering the video display device on and counting seconds until the video display device responds to any command, pick one, it does not matter. Once you know how long the video display device takes to respond, then you know how long the delay needs to be. Keep in mind that each macro command will take about .2 seconds, so the string that I show would take about 1 second before input selection command is executed.
hope that helps

What part of "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." do you not understand? |

For you to learn individual inputs you need one of two things: Either the database in the remote itself will have them on one of the LCD pages, or you will have it on your original remote and can learn it into this one.
If neither of the above exists, then to get to individual inputs you have to struggle with workarounds. If you are fortunate and channel up always takes the tv to the tuner, even if you are on input-1, then you can use that as an "anchor". To get to input 3 would take (ChUp, TV/Video, TV/Video, TV/Video).
Sometimes, as with certain Panasonics, you hit TV/Video and it brings up a drop down box of inputs with numbers 1 through 5 beside them. Then (TV/Video, 3) would take you to input-2.
Your challenge is the reason that the pc programmable remotes are more preferable (a la MX-850).

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions. |
