I just purchased the Aeros MX-850. I have the remote hooked up to my computer and I get error messages each time I try to download/upload.
I've changed my com ports to get them in synch. I've tried hooking up to two different computers. I've also tried a serial connection and an USB-to-serial connection.
The error reads: 110-47UU-0006 Either the com port setting is incorrect or the cable is defective.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Use a VOM to test the cable for continuity. Call URC for support (914) 835-4484

dont use any usb to serial for starters. Verify everything else works before going that route. They are notorious for causing a lot of problems. When you do chose to use one, use either a keyspan or belkinn adapter. I use a socket pcmcia to serial and it works the best.
I would use a desktop, connect the remote, start the editor program. Then minimize the program and go into the devices manager and verify what port its on. Then verify in the software they should match.
If they do and it still doesnt work then it could be a cable or remote problem.

Have you installed the driver for the USB to Serial Cable? I got the same error until I installed the driver and then it worked fine.
