Hello:
just finished programing my mx 3000 using nrf 300 RF. experiencing strange behaviour. Rf not working (I'm reading the old posts now on how to troubleshoot).
The strange thing is..With the mrf300 set to ir/rf. the componesnt only respond when my cabinet door is open. I've moved the MRF300 out of the cabinet, yet, nothing works when the cabinet door is closed. I'm thinking the IR emitters ar enot working, and the remote is acting just like a universal remote. I've checked the ID o nthe base unit and the Id slected in the program and they match. I've made sure the unit was set to RF/IR and tried every combination witht the same result. Only operates with cabinet door open.
I can see that when I press a buttin, the RF atenaae light sup for a sec, I can see each of the emitters lighting up for a sec o nthe components but there is nor response from the equipment.
Any clues are greatly appreciated.

Is the ID set to zero by any chance? Are you seeing the receive lights flash on both the RFX-150 and the MRF-300? Is the blaster turned on in the settings for the RF receiver? Try disconnecting all the buds from the MRF, close the door, and see if it works. If so, the blaster is enabled or your ID is zero. Turn it off, set the ID to one, reconnect the bud wires one at a time and move them around on the equipment until you find the eyes. Start with the emitter output level around 25% while you're finding the eyes, then bump up if necessary. Oh, and make sure your devices are set to RF only under RF settings, and set emitter output to ALL while troubleshooting. HTH.

OK thought I'd share what worked. I set the Mf300 to channel 1. I then set to RF only. The saving tip was move the ir leds around on the equipment -'fishing' around the front. findinf the sweet spot was it.
my sony had a spot labeled IR, the actual IR sensor was on the other side of the gear. The cable box sticker had come off once, I thought it was right on the sweet spot, about a 1/4 " over.
also I had turned the blaster off on front of the MF 300 I need this on so hoping moving it away and these other fixes will get me going again.
thanks for the help.
