Please help me load discrete power codes for my Arcam DV78 DVD player into my MX-3000. The codes themselves are readily available; the Arcam manual lists the codes in decimal format, and RemoteCentral has the codes in hex.

The problem is that I can't get these codes into the MX-3000 editor. I've downloaded the Pronto editor, inputted the hex codes, saved as ccf and then tried to import into MX-3000 using universal browser. The problem, I think, is that the Pronto editor recognizes the hex codes as database codes (rather than as learned codes), and, of course, the MX-3000 editor is unable to import database codes using the universal browser.

What are my options here? Can I just change the first 4 digits of the hex values to "0000" and trick the Pronto software into thinking it's a learned code, or will this throw off the entire coding scheme?

Thanks in advance. I'm getting real tired of having my DVD player out of phase with the rest of my equipment and would rather not use variables if there's an easier solution.

Did you try alternative Pronto software? I know there's official Pronto s/w, but pretty sure there's another one which is apparently better. Perhaps that will allow you to import HEX without the conflict problem?
Shut it Dole scum! :-)

I emailed you a mxf with the discretes. Open the mxf in Universal Browser and drag P-ON and P-OFF into your 3000.

So what's the proper way to get the discreet codes into the MX-3000 remote?

That's still a good question. Eric sent me a file that had the codes in a learned IR format. Learned codes are easy to import - you open the file using the universal browser and drag the button/codes over to your workspace.

The harder question of how to import non-learned hex or decimal codes is still sort of an open issue. You can try using the Pronto software, but you might run into the issue I described above.
