I'm a new MX800 user with a couple of questions about using it to control X10 devices (simple on/off).

1) The MX800 emits both IR and RF. Yet I have seen posts here which indicate that to control X10 modules, you need an IR to RF converter (IR543). Since the MX800 emits RF, and controls my RF-only Dish 921 DVR just fine, why cannot the MX800 control X10 modules directly via RF?

2) Where can I find the codes to control X10 devices (all I need is housecode A, devices 1-3, on/off)?

Thanks very much!

Keith:
1) URC apparently has decided not to implement X10 RF so you need to use the IR543.
2) The codes for the IR543 are in the MX Editor database under LIGHT-X10. It takes two codes to turn on/off X10 appliance and lamp modules. First the number and then on/off or bright/dim.

BTW, on the standard IR543 there is a dial for house code and you cannot change it with the remote. There is a modified version available, the IR543AH that allows the remote to select the house code.
