I was looking to update my software for my MX-600 "MX-600 Editor" program ( which came with a Side kick, by the way) but the MX-600 no longer has PC programability. The new ones don't.... mine does!!!!
Which program should i download? it looks as if the MX-700 is the replacement for what i have as a MX-600, but i don't want to use that software and screw it up.

any one else have this issue?

thanks..

Mike

The MX-600 never had PC programmability. Methinks you have an MX-700 and are just misremembering the model number.

MX-500: Normal standalone remote
MX-600: Same as above but with RF.
MX-700: An MX-500 with PC programmability and more capacity. Early versions shipped with the Sidekick MX-200, which has since been dropped.
MX-800: Same as MX-700 but with RF.
MX-850: Essentially the same as the MX-800 but with design updates.

LOL. you are right. Duh... spoke w/o looking.. i was sure i was right.... just ran downstairs and did a double take when i saw MX-700. clearly written on the bottom.

I looked it up in quicken and i bought it in Jan of 03 for $345. and that included a sidekick.

(which is awsome, if you have kids)

I'm with Daniel on this one.

I own both(as well as an 850 and 950)

If it has a silver case with a black center select button it's a 600.

If it has a biege case with a beige center select button(as well as a 3.5 jack on the lower left side) it's a 700.

There are several other differences(like M1,M2,M3 buttons on the bottom row of the 600).

Glad that was cleared up! :-)

And hey, it's a better remote than the MX-600!

He's clarified that he does have an MX-600. I thought of IR Clone as well, however that wouldn't explain the "Editor" program nor the Sidekick.

I took it this way,his IRclone may not be working anymore, and now wants to use the MX Editor? But of course can't.

I was afraid that you bought a "700 with side-kick" on e-bay and got a 600!!!!

I don't use my 600 0r 700 anymore but i do still use my side-kick!
I wish they made an rf version.

It's perfect after a lonnnnng day for channel surffing when you can barely keep you eyes open.

I went "rf"!
MX-850 is now my 'go-to' remote.

I'm starting to enjoy the power and flexiblity of my MX-950 but I still prefer the ergonomics of the 850.
