I'm programming an MX-950 with two MRF-250s to control three seperate A/V systems in our showroom. Here's my problem: The codes for a McIntosh C46 preamp are sent to both MRF-250s when executed in a macro.

The MRF-250s are on seperate addresses, both IR front blasteres are off, and the MX-950 is sending RF only.

I have changed the addresses several times, replaced the MRF-250s and deleted and then created the C46 device within the editor software. I have the C46 assigned to the correct MRF-250...

Thanks,

Sean

Are the device buttons named the same for the two C46 preamps? I've noticed the software can get confused when two devices have the same name. It's only a guess, but worth a try. I'd give them different names when 1st setting up the devices, instead of trying to rename them now.

No, there is only one C46 preamp. The problem is that an McIntosh MX-119 theater preamp responds to the commands for the C46. The MX-119 and the C46 are controlled by seperate MRF-250s.

What you need to do is two things...

1) Set your MRFs to different addresses - do not use "0" (on the bottom of the MRF)

2) Use different emitter ports and address them accordingly

Now, you have two layers of addressability. The only reason this may not work is if the emitters are too strong...then you may want to consider switching to the MRF-300.

Let me know if this works for you.

Thank you,

Thanks for the input. That's how I already have it set up. The 250s are set to RF ID 3 and B and each component is individually addressed with the emitters.

The problem is still the problem. :(

Ok, then the IR output from the emitters are too hot. You can try putting some heavy black tape over the emitters or switching to the MRF-300 to reduce IR output on each emitter. Let me know what works for you.

Here's the deal: I inserted a time delay between the commands controling the C46 and MX-119 - presto! No more problem. Seems like the remote needs time to change addresses. As it was, it was sending a command for the MX-119 to MRF-250 (3) and then sending a command for the C46 to MRF-250 (B). Without the delay the command for the C46 was actually being sent to both MRF-250s (3 and B). Wierd.

Thanks for taking the time to help me troubleshoot this problem.

Sean,

You shouldn't have had to do that. Could you email me your file? I'd like to investigate this a little more!

Best Regards,
